The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
In Early Years the focus is on learning through play a balance of adult-initiated and child-led learning opportunities. We incorporate the children’s interests into our provision to engage their curiosities and extend their own learning.
We believe children learn best when they have opportunities to explore the outdoor environment. We use the Early Years outdoor area on a daily basis as well as utilizing the developing outdoor learning area at the end of the field.
We value the importance of developing strong relationships with the children in our care. These relationships begin in the Summer term before children start school in September. Early Years staff visit children in their pre-school settings and invite children in for transition visits. Towards the end of the Reception year, we work closely with the KS1 staff to ensure that the children have a smooth transition to their new class. We work closely with parents to share our knowledge of each child, ensuring that each child has the opportunity to thrive.
